1. LABEL

Most labels are made out of polyester. We made ours from organic unbleached cotton with a vegan and biodegradable screen printed logo.

2. LINING

Synthetic nylon and animal skin linings have long been the norm in the footwear industry.

However, these materials contribute to animal cruelty and plastic pollution.

Our linings are made from organic cotton and are naturally dyed. This creates a touch-friendly, cruelty-free, and 100% planet-loving lining that steps away from the damaging norms of the industry.

3. LACES

Standard industry laces are made of cotton, nylon, polyester or a mix of the above.

For Nooch we managed to source a 100% organic cotton lace that will do the job of keeping your sneakers on your feet.

4. UPPER

The shoe industry, with billions of shoes made from animal leather each year, contributes significantly to environmental degradation.

We work with Hyphalite, a genuinely sustainable plant leather, for the upper part of our shoes.

This choice conserves water, supports the environment, and stands firm against greenwashing.

5. GLUE

Most shoes use solvent-based glues that are harmful to both humans and the environment.

We've switched to a water-based, solvent-free alternative. Along with precision stitching, this forms a sturdy bond between the sole and upper, ensuring our shoes are as durable as they are eco-friendly.

6. INSOLE

The typical shoe insole is laced with petrochemical-packed EVA, a harmful pollutant that contributes to environmental degradation.

Our insoles are made from a combination of recycled fabric scrap, natural latex, and coconut husks. This blend not only reduces pollution but also outlasts the conventional plastic insoles, offering a durable and sustainable choice.

7. REINFORCEMENT

The use of synthetic reinforcements like TPU, polyester, and nylon in shoes contributes to environmental waste.

We've said no to these materials and yes to renewable, bio-based materials for our shoe reinforcements.

These materials can be safely returned to the Earth.

8. STROBEL SOCK

Traditional strobel socks are often made from non-biodegradable materials, contributing to environmental pollution.

Our strobel socks are different. Made from a mix of polylactic acid and Tencel fibers, they're vegan, bio-degradable, and provide the necessary cushioning, flexibility, and support.

9. SOLE

Synthetic, petroleum-based soles are a major contributor to environmental pollution. Some soles last 1,000 years in landfill.

Nooch soles are made with natural rubber, contain zero plastics and are fully bio-based.
